About Sacha
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved writing. In the early days I was fortunate enough to do a degree in English literature and a course at the London School of Journalism. Even during my stint in the fashion industry, I would write magazine articles, web copy, and newsletters, although the lure of the travel world proved to be a tad more multi-faceted. I still can’t believe the many different ways in which you can create a standout trip. No itinerary is the same and it’s exciting to write about something quite extraordinary every day.
Talking points
What's your favourite destination?
Peru. All those Inca ruins, glamping spots, hiking trails in the Andes without another soul in sight. And then there’s Machu Picchu. No matter how many times I have been, I’m always left completely star struck
Which destination is top of your bucket list, and why?
Antarctica. I’m slightly obsessed with it. And now you can do things like camp on the peninsula and kayak in its silky waters
How many languages do you speak?
Two – English and Spanish. I don’t think A-level French counts
Which five items do you always pack when travelling?
A travel wallet – absolutely essential. Eye drops, 3 three small all-weather notebooks and a novel (usually about the destination). Then the luxury item would be my silk eye mask
What's your top travel tip?
Guiding is pivotal especially when you’re exploring a city. Private guides can really bring to life historical streets, museums and landmarks with expert knowledge. They also know the best local restaurants and bars – crucial for foodies. So why not see the city in a way that others cannot?
