Having been interested in Japanese culture for a long time, I had the chance to live there for three years in Tokyo, northern Japan, and Okinawa. During this time, I travelled around the country and particularly enjoyed the traditional ryokan hotels, the varied cuisine and karaoke. I love the contrast between the fast-paced modern Tokyo and the slower more traditional areas. I have since become more and more fascinated with the colourful cities and landscapes in the rest of Asia. Some of my favourite experiences have included paragliding over rice fields in rural Japan, exploring the neon-lit streets of Hong Kong, and kayaking in Thailand with a backdrop of dramatic limestone cliffs.
