About Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp

The Skeleton Coast is known for its haunting, raw beauty: the vast wilderness, shipwrecks and bleached whale skeletons make for an evocative and unforgettable experience - and a photographers dream destination. This harsh and hostile environment is still home to an abundance of wildlife, many species having adapted over time to survive in the desert. Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is located in one of the most remote areas of the Kaokoveld, perfectly primed for spotting desert-adapted elephants, lions and even the rare black rhino - the area is home to over 98% of the world's population.

Its location in pure isolation in a remote and private setting will expose you to some incredible experiences: go in search of the elusive shaggy brown hyena, the black-backed jackal or roaming elephants, oryx, giraffe and springbok, or pay a visit to the hundreds of noisy Cape fur seals on the brutal Namibian coastline. The area is popular with researchers who may be on hand to answer any questions on the latest lion research.

All ensuite tents feature a private outdoor deck from which to view the eerie moonscape environment of the Namibian outback. The main area of the Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp will include a dining room and bar to while away the evenings, indoor and outdoor lounge areas to toast to your experiences under the stars, plus a library and a refreshing plunge pool.
