Active Zambia

Experience the wildlife of Zambia during this adventurous 12-day itinerary, staying at intimate safari camps along the way. Spot hippo and lion from the safety of the sky in a balloon ride over the Busanga Plains. Burn the midnight oil in South Luangwa during an atmospheric night drive – a chance to glimpse rarely seen nocturnal wildlife. Wander along the banks of the Zambezi to see lion, leopard, elephant and crocodile. The beauty of Zambia’s wilds is sure to stay with you.

UK - Lusaka

Take an overnight flight to Lusaka, from either Johannesburg or Dubai, ensuring you’re ready to explore Zambia the following day. From Victoria Falls to the Big Five, this landlocked country in southern Africa has natural beauty in abundance.

Transfer to your stylish accommodation at Taj Pomadozi Hotel. Located in Lusaka’s business district, the property offers five-star luxury just five kilometres from the city centre. Relax in one of 193 air-conditioned rooms complete with modern comforts. Taj Pomadozi is set amidst tropical gardens and features a pool, squash courts, health club and a restaurant offering a range of Indian cuisine.

Busanga Plains

Arrive in the heart of the Busanga Plains, a mosaic of grassy floodplains teeming with wildlife. Stay here for three nights in an en-suite safari tent with an impressive view. As the mist rises off the dambos in winter, enjoy spectacular sunsets from the comfort of your veranda. Take a game drive by day or by night, boat along the natural waterways or look down from up high during a hot air balloon safari.

South Luangwa

After passing through bustling villages and wild Africa bush, you’ll arrive at the charming Tena Tena, your home for the next two nights. South Luangwa National Park is famous for its wildlife, notably leopard, and is an excellent choice for game drives, day or night. Burn the midnight oil on a spotlit night drive, observing rarely seen nocturnal wildlife. Alternatively, step out on foot to experience the thrill of a walking safari.

Old Mondoro

By boat, journey to the Old Mondoro Bush Camp on the banks of the Zambezi, a stone’s throw from exemplary walking trails. The camp offers intimate accommodation, constructed using natural materials and tended to by an award-winning team of guides. Start the day with a walking safari through acacia woodland and along rich lagoons. Later, take a game drive to see more of the wildlife here. Lion, leopard, elephant, hippo and crocodile all call the Lower Zambezi home.

Lusaka - UK

Having imbibed the beauty of Africa’s world-famous wildlife over 12 unforgettable days, bid farewell to Zambia. Fly from Lusaka via Dubai to connect with your overnight flight back to the UK, arriving the next morning.
