Highlights

Classic Cambodia

Experience Cambodia’s natural, cultural and historical highlights on a tailor made tour of classic Cambodia. Watch the sunset over Angkor Wat after exploring Bayon’s serene beauty and Ta Prohm’s jungle-infested ruins. Rainforest and coastal mangroves provide seductive scenic splendour in Koh Kong, and Phnom Penh’s contemporary joie de vivre starkly contrasts with its harrowing tragedies once witnessed at the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng prison. As you bike through paddy fields and jungle to the graceful Banteay Thom temple another classic Cambodian moment is yours. And you’ll experience many on your tailor made tour of the glories and shocking stories of Khmer history.

UK - Siem Reap

Don’t waste a moment of precious holiday time: you’ll lengthen your tour of classic Cambodia with an overnight flight from the UK to Siem Reap.

Siem Reap

On arrival we’ll meet and take you to the lavishly appointed 5-star Park Hyatt Hotel, your home for the next three nights. Your adventure kicks off in style this afternoon with a visit to the spectacular site of Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious monument. Watch the setting sun paint the magnificent temple's lofty spires gold as dusk finally falls.

Siem Reap

It’s best to admire the classic Khmer architecture of Bayon Temple in the clear light of early morning, before the crowds arrive. Then you’ll be driven to Angkor Thom to begin your bicycle or quad bike tour of the many other delightfully ruined temples. Pass through picturesque rice fields, villages and jungle as you close in on Banteay Thom temple. In the afternoon, you can relax on a boat, drifting past the stilted houses of the Tonle Sap Lake’s floating villages.

Siem Reap

This morning you'll experience the magical temple of Ta Prohm. There’s more than a little ‘Tomb Raider’ here as the ancient stones succumb to the clutches of nature. Fallen stone pillars intertwine with the fatal embrace and crumbling caresses of the giant jungle tree roots that threaten to subsume it. Banteay Srei’s elaborate 10th-century temple, however, is beautifully preserved and surrounded by local villagers and their traditional arts and crafts.

Siem Reap - Phnom Penh

A flight to Phnom Penh whisks you effortlessly to the opulent Raffles Hotel Le Royal, your home for the next two nights. This afternoon, the glittering Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda await, offering an oasis of splendid calm in the bustling city centre. The priceless treasures of the National Museum bear witness to Cambodia’s rich history.

Phnom Penh

Another side to this history is painfully revealed at The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the notorious Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. These moving memorials offer insight into the horrors suffered by the Cambodian people at the hands of the Khmer Rouge.

Phnom Penh – Kampot

After breakfast you'll be driven to Koh Kong, enjoying a scenic journey that wends its way through atmospheric local villages, paddy fields and panoramic mountain scenery. Your journey will end in Kampot, where you stay at the Amber Kampot.

Kampot/Kep

Now you have two days to luxuriate in style whilst leisurely exploring the local area.

Kampot - UK

After breakfast you'll take leave of your blissful retreat and head back to Phnom Penh Airport ready for your connecting flight back to the UK. Or, alternatively, you may wish to extend your stay and journey on to one of Southeast Asia's beautiful beaches.
