Arrive Athens

Arrive in Athens, where you meet with your A&K expedition team and fellow guests. Later, board your luxurious ship Le Bougainville and set sail towards the Greek islands. This evening, enjoy a welcome reception on board.

Ephesus, Turkey

Continue to the Turkish port of Kusadasi and head to nearby Ephesus, an ancient city renowned for its Roman ruins and biblical ties. Here, you might tour the iconic terrace houses, Ephesus Museum or Isa Bey Mosque. Alternatively, head inland to visit the farming communities of Birgi and Tire, or take in the archaeological wonders of Ionia, including the Temple of Apollo at Didyma.

Come ashore at your first port of call, Samos, a Greek island paradise of quaint fishing villages and pristine beaches. Once on land, you might explore local villages, archaeological museums, wineries, castles, or monasteries.

At sea

As you cruise southeast toward Antalya, enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean scenery, the ship’s luxurious amenities and the expedition team’s enriching presentations.

Arrive in Antalya, the gateway to Turkey’s Turquoise Coast. Stroll through the old town’s historic edifices and swim at a local beach. Alternatively, head inland to see the archaeological sites of Pamphylia, hike among ancient ruins on the trails of Termessos National Park or follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great on the peninsula of Lycia.

Paphos, Cyprus

Come ashore in Paphos, a historic coastal enclave renowned for its archaeological site. Here, you might tour ancient Roman villas, a 13th-century castle, the Pillar of Saint Paul or the Tombs of the Kings. Alternatively, head east to Limassol to explore the ancient Greek city-kingdom of Kourion, visit two family-run wineries in the Troodos Mountains or embark on a Land Rover and hiking excursion through the Avakas Gorge.

Cairo, Egypt

Arrive in Port Said and transfer to Cairo, home to some of the world’s most celebrated antiquities. Here, be among the first to view the entire collection of Tutankhamun treasures at the new Grand Egyptian Museum (due to open shortly), explore the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Great Sphinx, or visit the Tomb of Wahtye and the Step Pyramid of Djoser.

Suez Canal

Today, cruise toward the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea beyond, as your captain navigates the narrow span of the Suez Canal. A common sight to the world’s merchants and navies since 1869, this arterial waterway is rarely glimpsed by western travellers.

Sharm El Sheikh

Arrive in Sharm El Sheikh, a seaside resort town renowned for its beautiful beaches and spectacular reefs. Here, embark on a panoramic tour highlighting nearby monasteries, mosques, and cathedrals. Alternatively, discover a Bedouin tented oasis by camel and 4x4 or snorkel the reefs of Ras Mohamed National Marine Park.

Petra, Jordan

Arrive in Aqaba and transfer inland to Petra, a sprawling Nabataean complex of dwellings, baths, temples, tombs, and markets chiseled from the red cliffsides of a winding gorge some 2,000 years ago. Discover a new façade around every bend, with your exploration culminating at the towering edifice of the Treasury. Alternatively, stay in Aqaba to enjoy a beach break on the Red Sea coast.

Red Sea

Sail south toward Al Wajh today, taking the opportunity to rest, relax and reflect.

AlUla, Saudi Arabia

Coming ashore in the port of Al Wajh, transfer to AlUla, one of the oldest cities in the Arabian Peninsula. Visit Hegra, the recently rediscovered second city of the Nabataean kingdom; the mountains of Jabal Ikmah; and the Lion Tombs of Dedan. Alternatively, remain in Al Wajh to learn about the city’s distinctive Hejazi architecture of Saudi Arabia.

Alternatively, visit a former royal summer residence, the Al Gadhi Rose Factory or the Taif Souq. You might also opt for a culinary excursion in Taif and a dune bash through Daka Mountain Park.
