    UK - Oslo

    Sandwiched between the waters of Oslofjord and a swathe of forested hills, Oslo is the cultural and commercial heart of Norway. Nevertheless, it is still inextricably linked to Norway’s prevailing wilderness. Get your bearings with a simple stroll in the city’s leafy parks and buzzing neighbourhoods. First opened in 1900, your base is the lavish Hotel Continental.

    The centre of Oslo is pleasingly compact, and a tour with your private driver & guide is the best way to see the sights. Head for the bustling shops of the waterfront, Aker Brygge, and the fascinating Nobel Peace Center (currently closed until January 2024).

    Beyond downtown Oslo, the city sprawls off across surrounding peninsulas and into the forested mainland. An optional private guide can take you further afield if you wish. Whilst here be sure to head to Bygdoy, across the bay from the harbour, to visit the Viking Ships Museum and Fram Museum. Learn all about the national sport at the Ski Museum, which covers 4,000 years (that’s right, 4,000 years!) of skiing history. The top of the Holmenkollbakken ski jump tower offers spectacular panoramic views. and just a short taxi ride away.
