Top Tip

Visit between the middle of May and end of July where there is permanent sunlight. Thousands of migrating birds fill the sky, the mountains
are rich in green colours and the rivers and waterfalls are in full flow. It's a photographer's paradise as
the light is soft around the hours of 11.00pm to 3.00am.

About Lyngen Lodge, Tromso

High above the Arctic Circle of Northern Norway, Lyngen Lodge at two and a half hours east of Tromso provides a unique combination of luxury accommodation, top quality cuisine and high emotion adventures into nature suitable for all ages. Find yourself in a secluded woodland overlooking the Lyngen fjord where the mountains meet the inland sea. With eight en-suite bedrooms offering full board this traditionally constructed wooden lodge is in tune with its surroundings. Geo-thermally heated and with a grass roof as insulation you will feel snug and warm and can enjoy your surroundings courtesy of the large panoramic windows to take in the views of the Lyngen Alps. Why not go dog sledding, explore on foot with snowshoeing, take a sea safari or trek in the lush summer months.

The lodge provides full board accommodation and amenities include a fully licensed bar, dining room, lounge stua with large open fire place to warm yourself after a long day's activities, as well as a sauna and outdoor Jacuzzi to soothe those aching limbs. With no light pollution viewing the Northern Lights is a real experience as they dance over the fjord and Alps beyond. Make use of the in house photographer to capture the moment for all time.
