Eco-friendly Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Milka lies in the heart of the Julian Alps near the oldest ski resort in Slovenia. The young team has created a haven for grown-ups where you can ski, wild swim and hike.

Six individually designed rooms, from suites to luxury doubles, enjoy panoramic views of the dramatic snow-capped mountains and the glacial blue Jasna Lake. The décor of each of the minimalist boltholes echo the pristine environment it overlooks; from being built of larch wood and featuring touches of grey limestone.

Choose the Garden Suite and you will find an outdoor hot tub set within the decking where you can relax with a glass of local wine. For the extra comfort of taller guests, the king-size bed is extendable.

Stay in the Rock Suite complete with self-standing bathtub and patio perfect for al fresco dining. The fluid lines and fresh décor found in the Alpine Suite include pops of teal green and floor to ceiling windows that bathe the lofty space in natural light.

Restaurant Milka offers a fusion of seasonal Nordic and Alpine dishes served on dinner sets created by Slovene artisans from the minerals found around the lake. The culinary team, led by Head Chef David Žefran, uses ingredients only sourced from local farms and producers up to a radius of 100 kilometres.

The hotel also champions the local wine growers and offers crafted cocktails using natural spring water and alpine produce along with juice pairing that cleverly connects the food and beverage experience.

Activities from the hotel include wild swimming in the alpine lake or skiing in Kranjska Gora. Just a few kilometres away from Jasna Lake you can find Planica centre, known for ski jumping, where you can hike up the highest of the jumps and zipline down.
