    Discover the history and culture of Sweden, a Scandinavian nation still awash with Sámi tradition. Walk the cobbled streets of Stockholm’s Old Town now dotted with artisan coffee shops; hike beside thundering rivers before encountering white-water rapids; and get up close and personal with reindeer after joik (Sámi stories) around an open fire – all accompanied by plenty of Arctic gourmet cuisine along the way. Hotels vary between five-star waterfront rooms and suspended pods in the trees so you can experience the different ways in which Sweden does ‘luxury’.

    Rovaniemi to Harads

    Cross the border from Finnish to Swedish Lapland, arriving at Huuda Hideaway to meet Erik and Pia. They'll welcome you to their Sámi home with a warm drink by the fire while sharing family traditions and showing you how to bake Gahkku bread. Then, head to Gammelstad, an outstanding example of a Northern Scandinavian church town. Continue to Harads for unforgettable memories at the Treehotel, where nature, ecological values and modern design combine for an exciting adventure. 

    Storforsen

    Today, follow your guide to Storforsen, one of the highest white-water rapids in Europe. Hike next to the thundering river, enjoy the quieter brooks, and cross footbridges to reach the rapids. Your guide will cook you lunch over an open fire and – on hot days – why not take a dip in one of the natural pools between the rocks. After lunch drive back to Harads and check into Arctic Bath Hotel before a gourmet dinner in the evening.

    Jokkmokk

    Head to Jokkmokk to get close to reindeer. Deep dive into the Sámi culture with a traditional meal prepared over the fire in the lávvu (tent house), accompanied by the touching melody of joik (Sámi storytelling). The reindeer will meet you curiously as you feed and get close to them. In the afternoon, join Eva Gunnare for an Arctic herbs workshop and take home your handmade ointment and tea. Finish with another gourmet dinner at the hotel.

    Harads to Stockholm

    Today, transfer to Lulea Airport for your internal flight to Stockholm. Transfer to the Grand Hotel and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure – we recommend experiencing the onsite world-class spa offering Nordic bathing rituals and Arctic detox massage. Take your pick of two Michelin-star restaurants for dinner.

    Meet your driver and local guide who will take you through the streets of Stockholm to visit all the hotspots. See the Old Town – Gamla Stan – with its cobbled streets, small authentic coffee shops and steep alleys before a panoramic visit of the Royal Castle, Opera House, Fjällgatan Viewpoint, City Hall and the pedestrian shopping street of Drottninggatan. End the tour in Djurgården’s incredible Vasa Museum.
