Explore the vibrant frescoes in the rock-cut churches in Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the three valleys of Zelve’s Open-Air Museum famed for its rock-cut mosque. A hike through the Red Valley offers stunning vistas.

Stay in the Argos Hotel, offering quintessential views of Cappadocia.

Cappadocia – Monks Valley, Göreme and Zelve

Join your local guide for a day exploring the honeycomb hills and ‘fairy chimney’ rock formations which make Monks Valley in Cappadocia unique. Discover the fresco-adorned rock-cut churches, with the best being Karanlık Kilise, within Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The three inter-connecting valleys of Zelve’s Open-Air Museum is home to a rock-cut mosque and Balıklı Kilise (Fish Church). Stroll around the crumbling caves of this complex monastic centre and marvel at fascinating landscape before heading back to the hotel.

Cappadocia - Kaymakli and the Red Valley

Enjoy the breath-taking sight of the sun rising over the dusky orange and rouge valleys of the Anatolian plains with a hot air balloon ride. This is one of the best ways to view the lunar landscape pierced with volcanic peaks. After a hearty breakfast you’ll descend into Kaymakli Underground City. Your guide will lead through this subterranean spectacle dating back to 7BC. Complete your day with feet firmly on the ground with a gentle hike winding past rock-cut churches and marvelling at the natural wonders in the Red Valley.
