Family friendly Six Senses Kanuhura lies on one of the best beaches in the Maldives, overlooking a turquoise lagoon.

Straddling three private islands, the resort is a short seaplane ride from Malé airport, or you can arrive in style via an exhilarating speedboat transfer from Lhaviyani atoll.

Choose from a collection of 91 luxury villas which all hug the edge of the main tropical island, allowing you to almost roll out of bed and onto the beach. For those who want to get even closer to the waves, you can stay in stilted over-water villas. All have their own pools from where you can watch for passing turtles.

As the accommodation ranges from one- to three-bedroom, there is plenty of choice for either couples or larger groups. Be among the first to stay in the new retreats, which enjoy prime shoreline spots.

Scattered across the islands you will find a world of dining opportunities from a poolside tapas bar to signature buffets served in The Market, which is open all day. Beach dining can also be arranged along with a romantic castaway lunch on the nearby island of Masleggihuraa, where you can sample freshly caught seafood.

Six Senses Kanuhura is the perfect place to explore the coral reefs both above and below the water. Scuba diving and snorkelling experiences are available along with a sunset dolphin cruise.

Reset your energy levels in the spa while youngsters are kept entertained at the kids' club. Enjoy a private lesson in the yoga pavilion or simply relax with a coconut and papaya body wrap before enjoying a movie under the stars.
