LUX* South Ari Atoll

The picture-perfect island of Dhidhoofinolhu is home to LUX* South Ari Atoll. This newly revamped luxury resort has 193 private villas. Some that sit on the water’s edge along two miles of powder-fine beaches. Some that sit along a jetty that juts out far into the reef. All over the resort a beach-club vibe buzzes under the island's skin. Indeed Beach Rouge is a Maldives' only beach club. Daytime chilled tunes accompany light bites. After dark, a floating dance floor provides party people the space to enjoy cocktails while they live it up. There are eight eateries and five bars to choose from. East Market is a sophisticated take on a bustling night market. Umami offers sushi, teppanyaki and robata counters as well as the Maldives’ largest selection of sakes and Japanese whiskeys.

The resort’s waters are a diver’s nirvana. Snorkel or visit with the resident whale sharks with the help of the five-Star PADI dive centre. On the island, there are two infinity pools, a floodlit tennis courts and a Technogym fitness centre. The LUX* Me Spa features a menu of indulgent and stimulating treatments.

LUX* wouldn’t be the brand we know and love without a few special touches. The Café LUX coffee bar brews beans that are roasted on the island. The ice cream parlour, ICI, serves up delicious soft scoop. Impromptu screenings show at the Cinema Paradiso.
