Stylish Hotel Sahrai is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the medieval souks of Fez's ancient medina.

French designer Christophe Pillet has transformed this historic holiday home – standing proudly on a hillside overlooking Ville Nouvelle – into a grand retreat.

If one word sums up this Moroccan hotel, it’s the meaning behind its name which is magic. From here you can simply enjoy views of minarets, medinas, and mountains.

Flickering copper lanterns lead you towards the infinity pool shaded by palm trees and the country’s first Givenchy spa. Interiors are a fusion of traditional, carved plaster walls and Fassi ceramics with a contemporary edge.

Standing on the former site of Marshal Lyautey’s summer palace, the hotel revisits the distinctive motif of the great arches that once adorned the façade of the building that stood here.

All 50 white-toned rooms and suites are fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows allowing the rooms to bathe in natural light.

Designed with glass-walled bathrooms, layers of sheer curtains allow you to ‘conceal or reveal’. All the rooms can take an extra bed which is perfect for families.

During your stay head to Les Arcades, a white marble bar beneath arches, for an alfresco lunch or Amaraz for Moroccan and Lebanese plates. Refreshing mint cocktails at the Jungle Bar, with décor of lush green and rich gold, are the perfect tonic after a day visiting the souks.

Fez is regarded as one of the jewels of Morocco where time seems to have stood still. The hotel concierge is on hand to organise guided tours where you can explore the labyrinth of alleyways within the medina.
