Highlights

The Mountains & Fjords of Oman

Dive into the furrowed historic lands of Oman with an itinerary that takes you from sky-touching mountains to deep fjords. Along the way, encounter charming souks and fish markets, traverse farming villages and date plantations hidden in the crevices of Jebel Akhdar, and take in the striking Musandam Peninsula by boat as you sail the bright blue Gulf of Oman. Thrill seekers can ride and slide down the Hajr mountains or paraglide at sunset around the peninsula, but don’t forget to recharge with the many luxury touches found at your accommodation along the way – from five-star menus to morning yoga.

Fly to Muscat, Oman

Take your overnight flight to Muscat.

Muscat to Jebel Akhdar

Transfer straight to the Jebel Akhdar mountains by 4x4. On your way, visit the fish market and souk in Barka and drive along the Batinah plain until you reach the oasis of Nakhl. Take the turn off towards Wadi Bani Auf – a special route through the sedimentary mountains – and explore Bilad Sayt on foot with its patchwork of traditional houses. Stop at Al Hamra and its date plantations before arriving at your hotel in Jebel Akhdar.

Jebel Akhdar

Today will begin with a tour of Jebel Akhdar, famed for its terrace-style fruit orchards found along the mountain slopes, which are endowed with natural springs and aflaj. Visit the villages of Saiq, Wadi Bani Habib (the village of the old houses) and Al Ain, which dot the landscape and overlook the dramatic peaks, gorges and wadis.

At leisure

Take time to enjoy the glorious hotel. You might like to add a canyon walk or a Via Ferrate Cave adventure, or choose to just relax with morning yoga, a spa and a pool with superb views.

Jebel Akhdar to Musandam Peninsula

This morning, visit the Nizwa Round tower Fort and the Nizwa Souk. After exploring the Fort and Souk, head to Muscat before transferring back to the airport for your short flight to Dubai. On arrival you'll head to your hotel, Six Senses Zighy Bay, where full board is included. Depending on flight time, sightseeing may not be possible.

Musandam Peninsula

Spend the day enjoying the many activities at the hotel. There’s so much to do, from a ride and slide down the Hajr mountains and guided bike tours to visiting the resort's organic farm and taking a sunrise kayak or paraglide. Ask your specialist for more details and ideas.

Private Dhahab

Today, take a private boat and enjoy an overnight sunset dhow cruise to really immerse yourself in the beautiful fjords of Dhahab and the captivating Musandam Peninsula.

Private Dhahab/Musandam Peninsula

Enjoy another day out on the water aboard your cruise before returning to your hotel where you can choose to enjoy a relaxing final spa treatment.

Back to Dubai

Transfer back to the airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, ask about extending your stay at Six Senses or spending a few nights in Dubai.
