Take to the helm and skipper your own America’s Cup-racing yacht during a thrilling ride around San Francisco Bay. As you navigate the waters, you’ll help the crew raise the mainsail before sailing under the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and past Alcatraz Island.
Your morning adventure will start when you meet your experienced captain and crew of the high-speed yacht at Pier 39. Waterproof jackets and trousers will be provided for your small party when you step on board. A safety briefing will be given before setting off from the marina on the international America’s Cup-class yacht.
As you head into the bay help the crew raise the huge 200-metre-squared mainsail and jib. Let the captain show you how to sail the yacht then take turns with your new friends. Help with the hoist and take your turn as a ‘grinder’ or simply sit back and enjoy the thrill of the ride. You’ll be sailing for two-and-a-half hours so don’t forget your camera to capture the moment you glide beneath the Golden Gate Bridge or skim past the beautiful shoreline of San Francisco Bay.
Additional notes about the tour
This is a small-group experience, or privately curated, with time to suit. The sailing experience is subject to favourable weather conditions and can be cancelled due to poor weather. Waterproof trousers and warm jackets are available on board. All ages are welcome.
