About Belmond El Encanto

A laidback ocean retreat in Santa Barbara with striking original 1920s architecture, stay at Belmond El Encanto and you'll be sharing with a Californian icon. The traditional hacienda-style property harks back to the golden age of travel, with its original architectural features lovingly brought back to life with a sympathetic renovation that's seen new additions (such as the stunning pool and spa) blended seamlessly with the old-world charm. Here you can choose to stay in elegant private bungalows or larger bungalow suites which enjoy a private garden or furnished patio to make the most of the sunny outside spaces. Selected luxury and specialty suites are equipped with exquisite marble bathrooms and heated floors for a decadent yet contemporary style that creates an informal atmosphere; each is individually designed to the highest standards. Depending on which room you choose, you may find monogrammed pillows with your initials on: all part of the Belmond service.

Within walking distance to restaurants, galleries and boutique shops, Belmond El Encanto has an ideal location on the 'American Riviera'. Dinner on the terrace is a favourite here where locally sourced produce is transformed into delightful and innovative treats, with a focus on inspired Californian cuisine that makes the most of locally-sourced produce . The dining room and terrace is an elegant choice for a romantic meal, while the Lounge offers more casual dining and delicious afternoon tea. In the Wine Room you can enjoy a custom menu, tailored by Executive Chef Leo Andres Ayala, with perfectly paired wines from local vineyards and beyond. A selection of treatments featuring local ingredients are also available at the spa which like the hotel itself offers a true haven of peace and tranquillity.
