Hawaii Family Style

This 12-day Hawaiian family vacation covers four islands. On Oahu, visit historic Pearl Harbor, the white-sand beaches of Waikiki and learn to surf on the North Shore. After a short flight to Big Island, you can zip-line over an extinct volcano, snorkel with manta rays and take a helicopter ride over Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano. Then it’s on to Maui to cycle down Haleakala at sunrise, witness tropical waterfalls along the scenic road to Hana, and kayak with humpback whales and sea turtles. Finish your Hawaiian adventure with a day on the beautiful island of Lanai.

UK - Oahu, Hawaii

On arrival in Oahu, Hawaii’s third largest island (via mainland USA), you’ll collect a hire car and drive to your hotel, the gorgeous Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina. The rest of the day is spent at your leisure. Relax at the hotel or head out to explore the island yourself.

Oahu’s North Shore

Today your expert guide takes you on a tour of Oahu’s North Shore, which attracts surfers from around the globe to ride the perfectly formed waves. Before hitting the breakers, head to Haleiwa Town to shop and take a light local lunch. Then enjoy a surfing lesson at a top beach. Or visit a small tributary for a stand-up paddleboard lesson. In the afternoon, pick up a shave ice to cool down and head back to your resort.

Oahu - Honolulu and the Pearl Harbor

Enjoy a full-day guided city tour of Honolulu and the Pearl Harbor Historic Site. Home to the USS Arizona and USS Missouri Memorials, Pearl Harbor is the number one visitor destination in Hawaii. Learn how the infamous Japanese attack here brought the United States into World War II. In the afternoon, visit Waikiki for a tour of Hawaii's top shopping and entertainment district. After dinner in Waikiki, the rest of the evening is at leisure.

Big Island

After checking out of your hotel, head to the airport to drop off your rental car with enough time to catch your flight to Big Island. On arrival, pick up another rental car and head to your hotel on the stunning Kohala Coast. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax on the beaches, explore the local area or enjoy the incredible range of amenities offered by the Fairmont Orchid.

Big Island

Experience a doors-off helicopter flight over Big Island’s rainforests and waterfalls, as you head to Kīlauea Volcano. Continuously erupting for over thirty years, you can even feel the heat from your helicopter. Afterwards, your volcanologist guide (a professor at University of Hawaii) takes you on an exciting journey through the rugged landscape of Kaʻū. Visit Jaggar Museum, Nāhuku and Halema‘uma‘u Crater, get acquainted with the local legends and take lunch at Volcano House, perched on a crater edge.

Big Island

Head to Kohala for a small-group Big Island adventure aboard an all-terrain vehicle (16+). Pass through private ranch lands and pristine coastal pastures to discover a secluded surfer beach once frequented by King Kamehameha. After light refreshments, the last leg of your journey continues down scenic Kohala Mountain. When the light gets low, join your expert local guide in search of manta ray. Then leave the boat for a spectacular snorkelling experience as these giant creatures perform their dances beneath you.

Big Island

Today join a small-group tour to see North Kohala’s stunning waterfalls, tranquil streams, scenic coastlines and rugged valleys. Trek a course of nine zip lines, taking in stunning ocean views while soaring through the forest. Climb five suspension bridges and a rappel before travelling to a private picnic spot overlooking secluded Pololu Valley. After a deli-style lunch, venture into the Kohala Mountains to a private nature reserve for a short nature walk and refreshing swim in a waterfall.

It's time to say farewell to the Big Island and aloha to Maui. On arrival, pick up your hire car and drive to Montage Kapalua Bay Resort, your home for the next four nights. The island is famous for its natural beauty spots, dormant volcanoes and palm-fringed beaches. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Maui - Road to Hana

This morning, the adventure starts with a scenic drive on the road to Hana. Regarded as one of the spectacular drives in the world, this 103-kilometre stretch takes in tropical waterfalls, lush rainforest and secluded beaches. Don’t miss the Ke'anae Peninsula, the Hanawi waterfall and the black-sand beach at Wai'anapanapa. A cocktail or two on the beach as the sun sets is a great way to end the day.

Today, you’ll see Maui from the water as you embark on a kayaking adventure. Pick the right season (November to May) and you could get up close and personal with migrating humpback whales. On this relaxed paddle offshore, you also have the chance to snorkel with sea turtles. In the evening, enjoy fine dining on a sunset cruise and finish the night under a blanket of stars as you relax on the top deck.

Lanai - Maui

Today you can tick off another island on your Hawaii family vacation. After an hour-long ferry ride you’ll arrive at Lanai or, as it’s better known, Pineapple Island. Spend a few hours relaxing on its quiet beaches, or else visit the Garden of the Gods, Lanai City and Kaumalapau Harbor. After a day of exploring these stunning surroundings, take the ferry back to Maui, keeping your eyes peeled for humpback whale and dolphin along the way.

Maui - UK

It’s time to say farewell to Maui as your exciting Hawaiian adventure comes to an end. Head to the airport to drop off your hire car, leaving plenty of time to catch your flight back home.
