Classic New England

This tailor made New England self drive takes you from the thrum of Boston city life to the wider expanses of New England’s tranquil landscapes. It starts in historic Boston’s Italian North End and busy financial district before the Freedom Trail leads you further afield. You’ll then journey on into classic New England. Heading through New Hampshire to Maine, you might want to explore idyllic Ogunquit en route to Scarborough. Maine’s picturesque lakes region, Mount Washington, and Route 7’s famous autumn colours all lead on to Cape Cod’s picturesque National Seashore.

UK – Calgary

Upon arrival at Calgary International airport a special white-hat ceremony will greet you. This is long-standing tradition in Calgary and a symbol of good cheer. After freshening up, dinner will be at Sky 360. This revolving restaurant is located at the top of Calgary Tower, 183m above street level.


This morning, you will enjoy a short tour of Calgary with your A&K guide. The city’s highlights include the Stampede grounds, Eau Claire Market, The Core and Chinatwon. Later in the afternoon, depart for Kananaskis Valley for your Explore the Rockies helicopter tour. Embark on an adventure of a lifetime with a 20-minute, 161kmph ride over the incredible Rocky Mountains. You’ll cross the imposing massif of Mount Lougheed while your pilot provides a fascinating commentary. The evening is to be spent at your leisure.


After breakfast, you will enjoy a tour of Banff. Highlights include historic Cave and Basin, Banff Upper Hot Springs, the Hoodoos rocks, Surprise Corner, Vermilion Lakes, Tunnel Mountain Drive, Lake Minnewanka and Sulphur Mountain. Continue to Lake Louise for a picnic lunch on the shoreline with the stunning Victoria Glacier in the backdrop. Return to Banff and visit the Whyte Museum before enjoying a private tour of the Heritage Homes.

On board Rocky Mountaineer

Depart for the train station where you will board the Rocky Mountaineer. Travel from Banff to Kamloops in Gold Leaf Service. As you journey through the clouds, you’ll witness the most extraordinary scenery. Highlights include: the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, the Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie, the place where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven.

On board Rocky Mountaineer

Your journey on the Rocky Mountaineer continues west. Chugging towards the coastal city of Vancouver. Today you will travel through scenic valleys and dramatic landscapes. Look out for staggeringly steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Upon arrival at the train station you will be met and transferred to your hotel.


After breakfast it's off to False Creek for a Granville Island Market tour. Granville Island is Vancouver’s top destination for all lovers of food, art and culture. During the tour, you can eat your way through the world-famous Public Market. Hear the intriguing stories, culture, and history behind the tasty creations. Tour highlights include: locally cured meats, small-production local cheeses, and freshly baked artisan bread. Touring the Granville Island Public Market is one of the most fun ways to experience Vancouver.

Vancouver- Victoria – Vancouver

View the spectacular British Columbia coastline this morning. Board a ferry for a 90-minute sail through the serene beauty of the Gulf Islands. Marine wildlife sightings are common. Keep an eye out for eagle, sea lion and whale. Arrive on Vancouver Island and continue to the Butchart Gardens in Victoria. This pretty city boasts many beautiful buildings. Visit the unique shops and cafes of Government Street and Chinatown. Stroll along the Inner Harbour for prime ocean views. Return to Vancouver by ferry – dinner will be on board in their buffet restaurant.

Vancouver – Sonora

This morning transfer to Vancouver Airport for your onward flight. Upon arrival, you will be met by a member of our local team** and will continue, by boat, to Sonora Island for your stay at Sonora Resort. *Please note that the baggage is limited to 23kg per passenger as you will be returning to Vancouver in floatplanes. **Your guide will travel with you until your flight to Sonora.


These two days are at your leisure to enjoy the resort amenities. Spend your mornings lounging in the outdoor heated pool and mineral pools. Relax in the resort’s hot tubs and saunas. Take an afternoon to go fishing, paddle boarding or bear-spotting in this amazing location. Or just do nothing, it’s up to you.

Sonora – Vancouver

After a delicious lunch, you will return to Vancouver in chartered floatplanes. Upon arrival in Coal Harbour, transfer to your hotel and freshen up for dinner. Meet your local guide, who’ll take you to Grouse Mountain. Hop on the Skyride and ride it to the top of the mountain. Take in the extraordinary views, while enjoying a five-course tasting menu paired with wine at fine-dining restaurant, The Observatory.

Depart Vancouver

Today you will be transfer to the airport for your onward flight home.
