Highlights

Buenos Aires to Rio

Discover some of the highlights of South America on this Argentina holiday. Start with a Bueno Aires tour, taking you to the heart of this cosmopolitan city and through its distinctive neighbourhoods. Watch a dramatic tango show at the esteemed Esquina Carlos Gardel. Then explore one of nature’s breathtaking wonders on an Iguazu Falls tour before immersing yourself in the culture and heady atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro.

UK - Buenos Aires

Take advantage of the direct overnight flight with British Airways to Buenos Aires. We’ll meet you from your flight and drive you to your hotel.

Buenos Aires

Elegant, old-worldly, with a touch of Paris here and of London there, a dash of New York cosmopolitanism and Italian exuberance here, the city nevertheless has a lot of Latin America in it as well and some things that are uniquely Argentine, such as its tango bars and overflowing kiosks. Here, everything is grand, on a scale fit for kings: tourists photograph their steaks at the restaurants, Av. 9 de Julio ranks as the world's widest avenue, a cemetery so fancy that it occupies one of the poshest bits of downtown, the entire city fronts on the world's widest river. Buenos Aires never fails to impress. This afternoon, embark on a brief walking tour of the local surroundings and points of interest near your hotel.

Buenos Aires

This morning you’ll visit the sights around the central plaza including Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Cabildo and the Cathedral Metropolitan. Wander through the gardens of Palermo, the old quarters of San Telmo and the colourful La Boca district. Go behind the scene at the Colon Theatre, one of the world's greatest opera houses. Your guide will take you to Rojo Tango for dinner and an evening of tango.

Buenos Aires - Puerto Iguazu

There’s an early start today for your transfer to the airport. Upon arrival at Puerto Iguazu airport you’ll be met by a local member of our team and transferred to Belmond das Cataratas. This afternoon your time is yours to enjoy the hotel and maybe take a walk to the falls.

Puerto Iguazu

This morning enjoy a full day visit to the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls National Park. This side of park was created in 1934. It offers a truly unique contact with nature, as it’s possible to get within a few steps from the thundering cascades. Don’t forget your waterproof clothing as you walk along the footbridges and get close to the park’s wildlife and lush landscape.

Puerto Iguazu

Our own naturalist guide will accompany you on a wonderful Morning Walking Tour along the pathways of the Iguassu National Park. It is a unique and exclusive experience because the tour starts before the park opens to visitors. Our naturalist guide will point out and give you plenty of descriptive details about the wonderful flora and fauna you will see during the tour. This afternoon fly to Rio where you will stay at the Belmond Copacabana Palace.

Rio de Janeiro

Start the day with a visit to Sugar Loaf and Corcovado Hill before breaking for lunch in one of Rio's best barbecue restaurants. To reach Sugar Loaf, you’ll take a cable car to the top of Urca Hill and its lookout points over Rio. A second cable car will take you even higher to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Here, the views from far above the azure sea and the glittering city are spectacular.

Rio de Janeiro

Today is free to explore the sights of Rio de Janeiro. Right on your hotel’s doorstep is Copacabana Beach, which is one of the most famous in the world. Listen out for the sound of samba from the many samba bars throughout the city. Discover Brazil’s fascinating history with a visit to the Museu Historico Nacional, which is housed in a colonial arsenal from 1764.

Rio de Janeiro

Today it’s time to bid farewell to this vibrant city and board your plane back to the UK. We’ll transfer you to the airport in plenty of time for your flight.
