Trekking in Patagonia

Touch down at El Calafate airport in southwest Argentina. From here, meet with your A&K representative and transfer to your accommodation, Eolo Lodge. Spend the remainder of today at your leisure, enjoying a range of facilities including a library, an indoor swimming pool and a sauna. This morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before heading out on an exciting full-day visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the world’s few advancing glaciers. Meet with the glacier on its journey down the Cordillera River to Lake Argentino. Trek this majestic glacier on your way to the promenade deck that features seven balconies at different heights to ensure you get the perfect view of this natural wonder. Your expert guides have a wealth of knowledge about the flora and fauna living in these harsh conditions.

After breakfast, transfer to Puerto Bandera to board your boat. Cruise out into the waters of Lake Argentino, home to abundant marine life and glittering icebergs. Enjoy a two-hour tour, passing the magnificent Upsala Glacier and the Andes Mountains. Disembark at Estancia Cristina which occupies a unique location as the sole resident on a branch of Lake Argentino. Spend the afternoon here, enjoying the on-site museum, restaurant and stunning local landscape. Afterwards, return to the hotel and unwind over drinks.

Board an early transfer to El Chaltén, a village within Los Glaciares National Park. Arrive at your accommodation, Los Cerros Boutique Hotel & Spa, by DON, before embarking on one of the exciting activities on offer in the National Hiking Capital. We suggest heading out on a relatively easy trek to Laguna Capri. This half-day walk through Patagonian forests results in stunning view of the famous Cerro Fitz Roy and surrounding peaks – the Poincenot, Saint Exupéry, Mermoz, and Guillaumet needles.

After breakfast, you are free to explore the landscape at your leisure. We suggest a trip to Laguna de los Tres, the main trekking spot in the region. Enjoy a complimentary transfer to the trailhead, stopping off to marvel at the majestic Fitz Roy mountain. Begin your hike in thick beech and cedar forests before arriving at a stunning viewing point overlooking the Piedras Blancas Glacier. Complete your day with a trek to the Mirador de Laguna de los Tres, an incredible spot that promises magical views of the glaciers.
