Jaguars & Wildlife in Brazil

Come face to face with Brazil’s array of colourful creatures as you embark on an adventure into some of the most beautiful spots on the planet. Canoe down the Amazon river in search of pink river dolphin, and visit rural Amazon communitites. Head out on horseback and 4x4 excursions to experience the wonder of the Pantanal, home to many species of bird and marine creature. Observe the amazing conservation work taking place in this habitat. Use your time in luxury lodges and hotels to unwind and soak in the sights, reflecting on the breath-taking experiences Brazil has to offer.

UK – Sao Paulo, Brazil

Arrive in Sao Paulo and transfer to the Tivoli Moffarej Hotel, before a half-day tour of the city. Visit Sé Cathedral, one of the five biggest neo-Gothic temples of the world, and view exhibits at the Anchieta Museum and Padre Antonio Vieira Library. Continue to Liberdade, São Paulo's Asian district and cultural centre. Gaze at traditional Japanese lamps and architecture, and sample a range of cuisine. Also visit Paulista Avenue, the Japanese Pavilion, Ibirapuera Park and the Museum of Modern Art (MAM). 

Sao Paulo – Amazon

Fly to Manaus and take a three-hour transfer to Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge where you will stay for the next three nights. This small and exclusive hotel sits in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. Resting in front of Anavilhanas Archipelago, full of the sounds, smells and mysteries of the jungle. Free of mosquitoes and nested within a vast stretch of untouched rain forest, the hotel offers a wonderful balance between adventure and comfort.

After a buffet breakfast at the lodge´s restaurant, enjoy great array of activities with an English-speaking local guide. Hike through the dryland forests, discovering survival strategies and medicinal herbs. After lunch, visit to a local caboclo community for a warm welcome and a chance to understand their traditions, agriculture and social organisation. Later, discover the forest after sunset, lit up by the stars, as sloths, snakes and nocturnal birds begin to awaken. 

Amazon

Enjoy a tour of the Anavilhanas Archipelago as you search out the iconic pink river dolphin across the countless canals, lakes and islands of one of the world’s largest river archipelagos. After a buffet lunch, an afternoon canoeing session reveals more mysteries of the rainforest.

Amazon – Cuiaba

Wake early to visit the river islands and sight some more of the tropical bird and marine life. After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Manaus Airport for your flight to Cuiaba. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the nearby Gran Odara Hotel where the huge range of amenities includes a sophisticated restaurant, lobby bar, professional gym, swimming pool and beauty salon. Here, you’re situated close to Shopping Goiabeiras and Shopping Estação Cuiabá as well bars and restaurants, an ecological park and historic city sights.

Cuiaba – Alta Floresta

Today, fly from Cuiaba to Alta Floresta. Upon arrival, you will be transfer to the eco-friendly Cristalino Lodge, nestled beside the River Cristalino within a private forest reserve in the southern part of the Brazilian Amazon. Here, you can enjoy tremendous views, great facilities and the perfect base for exploring the rainforest.

After breakfast at the lodge, take a guided nature hike along the trails of the reserve. As you go, learn about the flora and fauna you encounter and the delicate balance which sustains this tropical ecosystem. A buffet lunch is served at the lodge´s restaurant, before  a boat trip to observe wildlife along the riverbanks. You may visit the River Teles Pires for a spectacular sunset before the meeting of two great rivers which bring different shades into the swirling convergence. 

Alta Floresta

This morning brings a canoeing experience on the tranquil waters of the River Cristalino, spotting monkeys and tropical birds in the branches above. From the river you can access the remotest reaches of the rainforest for hiking and wildlife watching. After lunch, head out to spot more wildlife such as harpy eagle, tapir and giant river otter. You may also visit one of the observation towers to view the birds of the canopy including tanager, chatterer, macaw, parrot, toucan and aracari. 

Alta Floresta – Campo Grande

Today, a shared vehicle transfers you from your lodge to Alta Floresta Airport for your flight to Campo Grande. After checking into your luxury hotel, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. 

Caiman Ecological Refuge

Head to the Caiman Ecological Refuge, your home for the next three nights. Situated on the Southern Pantanal within a 53,000-hectare cattle ranch. This incredibly remote retreat offering a range of experiences. Enjoy walking, canoe and 4x4 safaris by day and by night. Enjoy birdwatching and bike tours, as well as privileged access to several nearby conservation projects including the Hyacinth Macaw Project and Blue-Fronted Parrot Project.
