A twitcher's paradise – grab a pair of binoculars and relish in the vast array of birdlife...

Why we like it

  • Napo Wildlife Center is located on the edge of Lake Aññangu, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the largest tract of tropical rainforest in Ecuador
  • The ecolodge has a large dining hall and a well-stocked bar. The bar has a 15mviewing tower from which you can see the Andes on a clear day
  • Other facilities include a 46m canopy tower deep in the forest, a boutique and a library – but the lodge's real magic is its location and the opportunity to observe rainforest life in abundance

About Napo Wildlife Center

Napo Wildlife Center was built in conjunction with EcoEcuador, a non-profit organisation dedicated to conservation efforts in Ecuador. It consists of 10 comfortable cabañas with en-suite bathrooms and private terraces. A private and unique lodge, only open to a selected number of guests, it provides an exclusive and personalised rainforest experience.

Its unrivalled nature attractions and biodiversity include two unique, easy access parrot and macaw clay licks, 565 bird species, 11 species of monkey, giant otter and other large mammals such as Brazilian tapir, white-lipped peccary, all species of caiman, anaconda and many more.
