After a long day, there’s no better closure than a glass of wine. The island is home to some of the oldest wineries in the world, and Sigalas, Argyros and Gavalas are just three of the family-run wineries where you can sample the indigenous white Assyrtiko grape, responsible for crisp, dry white wines, as well as sweeter ones. Amongst the finest wines produced in Greece and used by the Orthodox Church in Holy Communion, Santorini’s prized dessert wine, vin santo, is also well worth sampling.
Greece is known for its calm blue waters. A private cruise either during the day or at sunset from Vlihada marina should not be missed. You will pass white and red beaches, and the Venetian lighthouse, before entering the crater, where you can visit the renowned hot springs. In the evening, we recommend a leisurely swim before appetisers and salads, all washed down with local wine.
