Wimbledon is here. The world’s oldest tennis tournament has long been the stage for the game’s great names to cement their star status, and for young talents to stake their claim to tennis fame. This year, in keeping with our ongoing commitment to support prestigious sports events and invest in truly memorable experiences, we’re excited to announce that Abercrombie & Kent is sponsoring 10 Wimbledon matches, supporting a variety of seeded players as they vie for the top trophies.
For those lucky enough to have secured a ticket to the world-renowned grand slam, you’re in for an exciting season. On top of the much-loved traditions – strawberries and cream, plenty of champagne and guaranteed A-list sightings in the royal box – this year’s tournament will see tennis fans anxiously watch to see if Novak Djokovic will claim his eighth Wimbledon Grand Slam title, and if current favourite Iga Swiatek will take the women’s title. These nail-biting matches make it more than worthwhile to don your finest attire and silently watch from the stands, rain or shine.
But if this isn’t your year to have a front row seat to the big tournament, you can still find a creative way to make tennis a memorable part of your summer. Whether you’re after an off-grid escape or a luxurious beach retreat, we’ve rounded up some of the exceptional hotels and villas around the world where you’ll have your own personal court.
Week 1
We firstly patched the sleeve of Tomas Machac (CZE), who played our very own Cameron Norrie on Court 1 on Tuesday 4 July. On Wednesday 5 July, we appeared on the sleeve of Jordan Thompson (AUS), who faced Novak Djokovic (SRB) on Centre Court, as well as Karolina Pliskova (CZE), who faced Natalija Stevanovic (SRB) on Court 18. On Friday 7 July, we appeared on the sleeves of France’s Quentin Halys, who played Italy’s Jannick Sinner, as well as Elisabetta Cocciaretto (ITA) who played Jessica Pegula (USA); both matches were played on Court No.3. On Saturday 8 July, we patched Christopher Eubanks (USA), who defeated Christopher O’Connoll (AUS) on Court 18.
Week 2
We firstly patched Marketa Vondrousova (CZE) who defeated Jessica Pegula (USA) in the quarter final on Tuesday 11 July. We’re supporting Vondrousova again in her semi-final match against Elina Svitolina (UKR) on Centre Court on Thursday 13 July.
Congratulations to Marketa Vondrousova, who has become Wimbledon’s first unseeded women’s champion in the Open era. Abercrombie & Kent was proud to grace her vest in the final.
