Dare to try something different with a South Australian outback holiday

A holiday in South Australia provides an escape from the country’s more crowded cities and resorts. There is certainly plenty of space when you visit visit the fourth largest Australian state. You’ll see stunning landscapes, be able to appreciate appreciate the vast, sublime landscapes of Flinders Ranges National Park, and have the opportunity to get up close and personal with wild koala on Kangaroo Island.

Our South Australia holidays make it easy to explore on your own in a rented vehicle, or to join one of our experienced guides to visit the vineyards of the Barossa or experience the beauty of Kangaroo Island. The third largest island in Australia, Kangaroo Island has 509km of dramatic rocky coastline. It’s also a conservation hub, home to seal and penguin colonies and, as its name suggests, kangaroo. It’s also the best place to see koala in the wild.

South Australia is perhaps best known for the Flinders Ranges. When you think of the Australian outback – this is what you’re imagining. The largest mountains in the state, they date back some 540 million years. We’ll arrange a guide to take you to Wilpena Pound, a natural amphitheatre of red sandstone that makes this national park famous.

With access to world-class vineyards in some of the most picturesque wine regions in the world, as well as the city of Adelaide, on a bespoke South Australia holiday you’ll get to sample a unique taste of Australian life.
