Where did your love of travel come from?

My love of travel started as a teenager when I hopped on a plane to visit relatives in Sydney for three months. The minute I returned to the UK, I started saving for my next trip. It kept me exploring various parts of the globe for more than two years. An overland journey across China and grabbing the Trans-Siberian Railway towards Europe were the highlights of my travels. While I wouldn't change those memorable experiences, I have certainly found that a shorter and more comfortable trip is better. I lived in several countries and experienced what each region had to offer. Now, I love to inspire discerning travellers on how to make their next trip the most memorable yet!

Top recommended ultra luxury experience?

An ultra-luxury stay at Villa 20 Amanzoe on the east coast of the Peloponnese in Greece. This sprawling villa sleeps up to 20 guests. One of my most memorable meals was an impromptu lunch at La Muña. This Japanese-Peruvian restaurant is nestled in the attic of La Réserve Eden au Lac in Zurich. Philippe Starck designed the fun and contemporary décor in the style of an old Harbour Master’s Office. The interior is cosy, and the adjoining roof terrace commands 360-degree views of Lake Zurich and its surroundings. The food is delicate, refreshing and filled with flavour. I would recommend the suzuki seabass ceviche, the veggie chirachi and the crispy maguro, paired with a glass of Chablis. Delicious.

Best kept travel secret? 

Take a 20-minute helicopter ride from Mahé in the Seychelles, to Fregate Island Private. This isolated granite island is often referred to as the Galápagos of the east due to its abundance of wildlife, flora and marine biodiversity.
