About Crystalbrook Lodge Port Douglas
Hidden away among the 85,000 acres of historic Crystalbrook Station is a secret outback retreat offering a luxurious wilderness experience. Crystalbrook Lodge is located in North Queensland and is a one hour scenic helicopter flight, or a 40 minute charter flight, from Cairns. The weather here is typically warm year round with clear blue skies giving rise to spectacular outback sunsets and enchanting star-filled nights.
The lodge itself is comprised of just five Courtyard Suites, each with king-size beds, spacious bathrooms with dual shower heads and your own private courtyard with daybed. There is also a Magna wet-edge pool overlooking the lake - the water is high in magnesium and is great for muscle relaxation - and a theatre room with full Apple TV connection allowing you to view your own photos and videos. Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout. Your stay is inclusive of superb dining at the lodge's restaurant with delicious dishes created from locally sourced produce and complemented by a boutique selection of wine and beverages from the bar.
Many lake activities, such as bird watching and kayaking, afternoon tea at Crystalbrook Station and Homestead, and a day visit to Chillagoe to see the limestone caves, aboriginal artwork and a local outback pub are also included in your stay.
Renowned as a nature lover's haven, the region is home to an impressive range of wildlife from freshwater crocodiles to Jabiru and blue-faced honeyeaters. Spend an afternoon gliding along the lake aboard the electric boat, exploring one of the many lakeside trails, or hire a helicopter for the day and go heli-fishing for barramundi alongside an expert guide.
