Why we like it
- An urban oasis just steps from La Scala
- Asian holistic spa
- Two outdoor zen gardens
About Mandarin Oriental, Milan
Set across four 18th century buildings, the Mandarin Oriental, Milan was once a bank but is now the newest addition to Milan’s glittering luxury hotel scene. On the doorstep of La Scala, the famous opera house, the 104 rooms and suites are Italian in style with Asian touches – also surprisingly large for a city hotel.
The only Asian holistic spa in Italy is complete with an indoor pool and is a welcome retreat after a day shopping. Dining options are overseen by Antonio Guida and the private dining room seating eight is a lovely touch. Seta is where fine dining reigns and the open kitchen leads out onto the courtyard to ensure all year round dining.
