Initially working in the Botswana Defence Force, Onalenna “Ali” Tiego decided he wanted to pursue a career in the tourism industry. After a series of academic courses, he became a professional safari guide, working at camps across Botswana. This allowed him to go back to his roots – the Okavango Delta – and share the beauty of this region with our clients. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more affable, knowledgeable and professional guide in the Delta.

Meet the guide

Onalenna “Ali” Tiego grew up in the bush where he developed a love for the wilds of the Okavango Delta. Whilst initially working in the Botswana Defence Force, he went on to study tourism and travel agency management, amongst a range of other subjects. This gave Ali the skills to become a fully fledged safari guide, and he went on to work at various camps and parks across Botswana. Since working with A&K, he’s gained a reputation with our clients as a jovial, easy-going guide, with a knowledge of the Delta and its wildlife which is second to none.
