Wildlife and dramatic scenery

Patagonia lies at the southernmost tip of the Americas. Some of the best – and the most dramatic – scenery has been saved for last.

Your Patagonia holiday will most likely include a trip to the glacial Torres del Paine National Park. The park lies between the Patagonian plains and the very last peaks of the Andes. Here in Chile’s most famous national park, you can enjoy a classic spot of Patagonian trekking. Your personal guide will help you spot some of the 100 species of birds, armadillo, guanaco and occasional puma that share this space.

In Patagonia, trekking is a great way to see the national park, but you can also explore by horse, boat or mountain bikes if you prefer.

The San Rafael Lagoon is shadowed by a mighty glacier. The lagoon is found in the Laguna San Rafael National Park in the north of Patagonia. The remote and pristine region of fjords, glaciers, temperate rainforest, thermal hot springs and waterfalls has remained an unspoiled paradise. The lagoon was declared a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in 1979, and a boat trip to the foot of its glacier will be a highlight of your Patagonia holiday.
