Margaret River

Drive south from Perth, meandering through Western Australia's extraordinary expanse of sun-soaked vineyards and turquoise coast. Your destination is the gourmand's paradise of Margaret River. To welcome you to this beautiful part of the world a lakeside table at the internationally renowned Cape Lodge restaurant awaits.

Margaret River

Margaret River is one of the world's finest wine regions. See it in style as a private guide chauffeurs you between wineries in a classic car. Strolling through the vineyards you’ll learn about viticulture from your own private consultant and meet the region’s winemakers for an exclusive tasting session. Sample sophisticated local olive oils too, before an illuminating bushwalk with a Wardandi Aboriginal guide.

Margaret River - Pemberton

Your drive to Pemberton will trace the glorious coast of Cape Leeuwin, where the Indian Ocean meets the Great Southern Ocean as you pass mighty karri forests. For unbeatable bush views climb the 72m Gloucester Tree. Upon arrival in Pemberton you can retreat to the Silkwood Chalets whose intimate clutch of four deluxe cabins lies between the shimmering lake and the woods.

Pemberton

Pemberton is famed for its wonderful produce. Bite into a crunchy Pink Lady apple or a creamy avocado, before sipping a little green tea and sampling the most delectable of mushrooms, the rare black truffle. You can even try your luck on a truffle tour of your own. For the active, wild bushwalks, canoe trips and refreshing swims are a great way to unwind.

Pemberton - Albany

The drive along Western Australia's wild southern coast is unrelentingly spectacular. On the way to Albany, be sure to stop over at the Valley of the Giants, a den of 40m-high red tingle trees. We can highly recommend taking the unique Tree Top Walk where, from up in the canopy, you’ll be able to view the entire forest.

Albany

The waves striking the rugged cliffs and white-sand beaches of Albany come straight from Antarctica, offering an inkling of how untamed this remote shore is. Be sure to pay a visit to Australia’s last whaling station, now the Whale World museum. After discovering the history of the whaling industry, hop aboard a nearby boat for your chance to spot a whale of your own.

Albany - Perth

Linger over the drive back to Perth, pausing amid the rugged mountains and vibrant flora of Stirling National Park. Climb to the top of Bluff Knoll, one of Western Australia’s highest peaks, where cool air and panoramic views across one of Australia's wildest regions await you.
