About The Refinery
In the heart of the Garment District, The Refinery Hotel is just blocks from Bryant Park, the theatre district, Times Square and the Empire State Building. Its stylish décor and artistic ambience is shot through with industrial accents that reflect the building's 19th century milliners and hat factories.
As the opulent reincarnation of the Colony Arcade Building, it was originally constructed in 1912, it's ornate neo-gothic façade the vision that welcomed the workday of the generation's milliners. Its sympathetic restoration has seen it stripped, redefined and preserved, with gothic arched entryways and windows surrounded by sculptural quatrefoils, shields and eagles. Materials from the original building have been reworked into the new structure: water tanks, inner fixtures and tools have been reimagined as ceilings, furniture and interior detailing.
Each of its 197 rooms has been custom furnished in a raw yet luxury manner with WiFi, iDocking stations, LCD tvs and full cable. Oak hardwood floors, rainfall showers and marble mosaic bathrooms add polish, while Atelier Suites offer up a tantalising sliver of loft-style living.
We love The Refinery Rooftop, featuring over 3,500 square feet of cinematic views over the Manhattan skyline and Empire State Building; a hidden gem in this bustling metropolis.
